[In front of me as I type 😍]
Hello loves, happy Friday!
Now the fox dens have been carefully taken care off — and I’ve seen the foxes since, including one sleeping on my kitchen roof, so they’ve let me know they’re okay! — my brain has fast-forwarded to The Move.
It’s basically all I can think about, which is overwhelming but also useful — when I’m in a state like this my brain starts working its neurodivergent magic.
For example, this week’s creative joy involved three videos about interiors that sparked what felt like an ancient memory in my being.
First was this delightful peek inside the actor Richard E Grant’s Georgian home. I loved hearing him talk about his late wife and how she’s woven through every part of their home, and even though he’s FAR more maximalist than I am (and I’m getting there!) I just felt a pang of wanting a similarly memory-filled home.
Then I came across this video from YouTuber Molly Roberts. It was fun watching her make decorations for her home, but the bit that got me was all the COLOUR! Oh my goodness, I need more colour in my next home! Ever since I had a pomegranate red wall in my living room in 2005 I’ve wanted to recreate it. This video reminded me it’s time.
And then finally I watched this tour through designer Pearl Lowe’s gorgeous ramshackle house in Somerset. A lot of her style isn’t my vibe at all, but there was something about her shabby chic and velvet sofas that poked me in the ribs and said, you need a bit of that.
It feels like a permission slip, right? 😍
Today’s questions
What does “home” mean to you? What are the essential ingredients of a home?
What are your favourite parts of your home? What memories does it hold for you?
What could you release from or bring into your home in 2025?
Happy holidays, loves! 🎄✨
If all goes to plan I’ll be back here next week with a cosy video for you xo
Don’t forget: if you upgrade from a free or monthly subscription to an ANNUAL subscription1 you’ll get complimentary access to my end of year workshops!
I’m extending this offer to December 31st so even if you can’t join us live you can still watch the recordings (I almost prefer recordings, I like being able to pause them!)
The first one, Unravel the Year, is tomorrow on the solstice, Saturday December 21st at 5pm (UK).
The second, Finding Our Words is on December 29th ✨🎄
Annual peeps, don’t panic if you haven’t had the Zoom link or login stuff yet - Nita is on the case! Keep an eye on your inbox 😘
Yesterday someone suggested not only finding a word of the year (thank you for your workbook for this purpose, Susannah!) but finding a word of the year for your home. I love that idea!
Richard E Grant’s home speaks to my soul! I especially loved the kitchen-conservatory. Thanks for sharing.
