Susannah, thank you for sharing your book mind map! I never thought I would be into gory quirky type books, but my mom shared Stephen King's book Holly with me, and I'm hooked. Your map will give me some ideas of where to go next! Also, if you haven't read Holly, you must! It ticks several boxes of interest on your map. Hugs, Dawn

ooh, I reckon you'll enjoy The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward and The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins! The Lamb By Lucy Rose and A Dowry of Blood by ST Gibson are not super gory at all but they are luscious :-) I will check out Holly, thank you!

Interestingly, I think my forthcoming book might be up your alley??? I’d be happy to send you one as a gift (we’re still a ways away from even having a pub date, but I’ll keep this in mind if you’re interested). Can’t wait to watch this video, & hell yes to Catriona Ward, unhinged female narrators, & gore galore ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Oh gosh and Carmen Maria Machado!!! I recently found an academic paper putting her work and my work in conversation and it made me SO happy; her writing is grand

Body horror/disgust wise nothing has ever come close to The Doloriad for me!

I did the same thing in middle school. I jumped from the babysitters club books to Christopher Pike, Stephen, King, and VC Andrews.

We have a lot of cross over! I love Tama and all the horror/cannibal/unhinged women stuff. I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy my books, especially my short story collection. I can send you a copy if you like!?

I love your selection and DNA its so insightful.

The Teen reading is almost identical to mine with an additional of Virginia Andrews’ Flowers in the Attic and all the Sidney Sheldon books. Once I hit my twenties I had a spiritual awakening so it was Shakti Gawain and Louise Hay. I had a connection between Magical and also hopelessly sexy and romantic, Jackie Collins.

As I have matured I am interested in non fiction that have a spiritual fantasy angle. I have read hundreds of books so I must actually take stock. I find it hard to focus with ADHD, but I will retrain my mind instead of using audible.
