Hello loves, happy Saturday ❤️
I’ve had a really good reading month and wanted to keep track of my fiction books, so I’ve made myself a very simple database in Notion which I’ve been enjoying obsessing over putting together!
I gave you a peek of my reading notebook in this video, and while I’m still using it (because I love paper) the new database gives me a more organised way to stay on top of the books I’ve read, the books I own (fiction only for now) and the books I’ve been recommended.
Plus NOTION! I adore Notion and use it daily to organise my business and brain.
My dear friend and I have been comparing notes when we realised we were both creating book databases at the exact same time. Caroline is a career bookworm and voracious reader, so my little database is dwarfed by the majesty of her book collection 😍 but we’ve each created what works for us (another reason I love Notion — it’s so versatile).
You can see Caroline’s database walkthrough over here.
As I mentioned in the video, I’ve turned my database into a Notion template you can duplicate and use in your own Notion!
Since I recorded the walkthrough yesterday I’ve added a few extra bits to the template, including more genre tags, a “format” category (hardcover, ebook, audio book, etc) and an essential “On hold at the library” status tag!
Once you’ve saved a copy of the template into your own Notion you can edit, change and move everything inside the database — and add all your books, of course — so have fun customising it to fit your own reading needs!
The link to the template is linked below for all paying members*.
*And I always forget to say this but if you haven’t already do consider upgrading so you have access to everything in the club, including our next Zoom hang out (on Feb 9th!) and juicy discount codes to my courses (ahem Crone Cards coming soon!)
My January books
The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Death of a Bookseller by Alice Slater ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Pages for You by Sylvia Brownrigg ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
You Must Not Miss by Katrina Leno ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Come Closer by Sara Gran ⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlyn Starling ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Last to Leave the Room by Caitlyn Starling ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
No 5 star reads this month but I VERY rarely give those out — a book has to change my life to be a 5 star read, so consider 4 stars a pretty high rating!
The 3.5 rating is there because some books are not quite up to a 4 but were still better than a middle of the road 3.
It’s book maths :-)
Sending lots of love from me and the kittens (who turn one tomorrow!) xo
